Municipality of Casal Velino has been awarded the Blue Flag since 2009 at FEE base (Foundation for Environmental Education) in Rome. European coastal resorts that meet quality criteria related to parameters of bathing water and services offered, they are awarder this prize, taking into account also the cleaning of beaches and marinas.
Main evaluation criteria for Blue Flag award:
• Suitability of bathing water;
• Updated information on the results of the analysis of bathing water;
• No discharge of sewage or industrial on the beach;
• Clean beaches, with efficient services;
• Presence of monitoring bathing or safety equipment on the beach;
• Easy accessibility and services for people with disabilities;
• Information on the Blue Flag program;
• Balance between bathing and respect for nature.
